About the Cash Awards
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, the Media That Matters Film Festival will be presenting numerous awards of $1,000 each towards the distribution and outreach of exceptional projects. Awards will be presented during our Awards Ceremony in New York City.
Last year, we distributed $10,000 to filmmakers on topics such as Sustainable Agriculture, Criminal Justice and Media Awareness. Awards were sponsored by Sundance Channel, Netflix, Heifer International and others, and award presenters included rapper/activist Chuck D, Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary and Morgan Spurlock, Director of Super Size Me .
So far, cash awards have been secured for the following topics:
