Congrats Ondi!
A Media That Matters alumna made some press this weekend from the snowy mountains of Utah. Big congratulations to Ondi Timoner for her documentary film, WE LIVE IN PUBLIC, that won the grand jury prize for U.S. documentary. Timoner’s DIG! won the same award in 2004. From what I have seen and read online about WE LIVE IN PUBLIC, I am truly excited to check this film out.
Timoner’s film RECYCLE, of course, was part of the sixth annual Media That Matters Film Festival - the film won the sustainability award that year. RECYCLE, portrays one homeless man in Los Angeles, who along with his job as a recyclist, is also a gardener who made a community garden for his fellow homeless friends who come in the early afternoon to swap their shopping carts’ worth of recyclable materials for a few bucks.
Stay tuned, as media, the internet and recycling continue to merge.
