Yes, We Can (Watch it at a Theater Near You)!

felix

If you’re anything like me, you’re still following minute post-election details. Well, in the long tradition of documentarians trailing U.S. Presidential candidates as they campaign for votes (for example, Robert Drew’s Primary, The War Room by Chris Hegedus and D.A. Pennebaker, among others), Amy Rice and Alicia Sams are on the last stages of their documentary about President-elect Barack Obama. The filmmakers have had unprecedented access to Obama’s campaign staff for the last two years and will continue shooting until his inauguration in January. Considering how well his campaign was managed, I can’t wait to see how decisions were made that affected the election’s outcome. Apparently, HBO is banking on election-obsessive people like myself (as well as “regular” individuals) and has purchased the yet-to-be titled documentary, which is produced by actor Edward Norton and fiscally sponsored by Arts Engine. Theatrical rights to the film are still available, but for how long? Read more about the film here.
