Jafar Panahi Is Banned from Making Films!!!

JUST IN, Jafar Panahi, an acclaimed film maker, has been jailed for the next 6 years. What is worst is that he is banned from making, producing and writing films for the next 20 years. According to the UK Guardian, Panahi was arrested because of propaganda used against the Green Movement. This got me to thinking, with films such as Rob Epstein’s Howl and Bansky’s Exit Through the Gift Shop,  this year, in which art is the medium and got artist into trouble, it is upsetting to me that such an insipirational person’s talent was taken away from. Have we not learned our lessons? It was as if Michelangelo was banned from painting and Frank Lloyd Wright wasn’t allowed to design the Guggenheim. The verdict against Panahi is solely against his art and not the crime. I feel a story coming my way and a I’ll keep an open eye if anything develops.
