Media That Matters in London!
It’s that time of year and Arts Engine is swarming with activity. Media That Matters is just a little over two weeks away. Normally, that means a hectic race to the finish line—our NYC premiere. And yes, we’re gearing up to screen this year’s collection at a larger-than-ever venue on June 2nd… but we’re also thrilled to announce that we’ll be hopping the pond just two days later for a London premiere on June 4!
We’ve partnered up with Shooting People and Working Films who will co-present the tenth annual Media That Matters collection at an incredible UK venue, the Frontline Club. The Frontline Club is known for “championing independent journalism”—sounds like a perfect fit for Media That Matters if ever there was one. Working Films’ own Robert West (and a longtime supporter of MTM) will be hosting the evening.
We’re excited for MTM to have an international presence during its first week out in the world. It especially makes sense for the collection to be seen in England since two films (No One Bothered and Justice Denied: Voices from Guantanamo) feature subjects from the UK.
We’re fortunate that one of the subjects from Justice Denied, Omar Deghayes, will be on hand to have a discussion with the London audience after the film. If I could be in two places at once, I would definitely want to make it to this event.
Spread the word about this very special MTM screening to your friends in London! Stay tuned for updates on more MTM events coming to a city near you.
