Film Description
Broken Promises is the empowering story of one woman’s fight for justice that led to the largest class action lawsuit ever filed against the United States Government.
In 1887 the federal government broke up Indian Reservations, parceled out millions of acres of land to Indian families and promised to manage the funds generated from mining, oil, gas and timber leases. A century after breaking that promise, Elouise Cobell, a Blackfeet Warrior, took on the most powerful government in the world for the mismanagement of billions of dollars of Indian Trust Funds.
