Film Description

The Basques are the indigenous tribesmen of Europe with their own indistinguishable language and customs.

`Gernika Lives` a 40 minute documentary, November 30, 2003.

30 years later, Josu, a Basque emigrant in the United States returns to his hometown, Guernica, with his North American daughter, Begonya, for the 50th anniversary of the bombing of the holy Basque village, Guernica, by the nazi condor legion and Franco.
Through this father-daughter journey we come to understand who the Basque people are with their culture, history, politics. We meet the people and their culture and hear their personal recollections of that tragic event when for the first time in history bombs were dropped from the sky on innocent, undefended civilians.
