Film Description

“Leh Wi Tok” (“Let Us Talk”) is a feature-length documentary film in post-production, and an active companion web-based public awareness campaign about the emergence of independent radio stations in post-civil war Sierra Leone. These small, sometimes struggling, radio stations are changing the way the communities deal with their most pressing human-rights issues: poverty, corruption and basic civil rights.

The film highlights Radio Moa (“Voice of the Voiceless”), a local community-led radio station in the remote border region of Kailahun, Sierra Leone. The documentary introduces us to journalists and listeners who sharing their stories through radio, and informing, helping and healing themselves, their neighbors and their communities while building a strong foundation for democracy from the ruins of an 11-year civil war.
