Film Description
Sun Kissed is a documentary about the lasting effects of American colonialism on the Navajo community. The story follows the lives of the Sandoval family whose daughter, Leanndra, has a genetic disorder that can be traced back 150 years to the most traumatic event and defining moment in Navajo history.
The story of the Sandovals sparks an important dialogue amongst Navajos and other colonized populations, allowing their dark past to serve as both a cautionary tale and ray of light as communities start to take control of their collective histories and future destiny.
