Film Description

Take a Bow is a feature length documentary about a school in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois for special needs children between the ages of 6 and 21 years.  Each year, the students at the school, Clare Woods Academy, put on a musical play written by a faculty member.  Students with disabilities that range from Down Syndrome to Autism perform memorized dances and dialogue in front of sold out audiences.

The film aims to show that people with disabilities have fears (like stage fright!), hopes, and aspirations just like you and me.  Other issues addressed are the treatment of the disabled in public school and society in general, as well as the life that awaits the students once they graduate from Clare Woods.
