Film Description

Hatred of those with developmental disabilities is “hidden in the open.”  Filmmaker Correy Lennox went off to graduate school with his son (who has autism) in tow, and discovers that the educated liberals he was surrounded by who would never dream of making a racial or homophobic slur continually made “retard” jokes.  This flippant mentality, he found, made dehumanization of those with developmental disabilities possible, contributing to rape, torture, and murder.  This confrontation of bigotry took him to places as diverse as San Francisco and to a castle in Austria where people with developmental disabilities were murdered before the onset of WWII.
