Film Description
This Georgia Department of Public Health sponsored educational film features Mary Frances Hill-Coley: an inspiring African-American woman who delivered 3,000 babies in the mid-20th century to black families of varied living conditions. The film was used to educate midwives in the Southern United States, but has since been used across the world by UNESCO both for its portrayal of “Miss Mary and it’s importance as a record of the living conditions of African-Americans at this time.
