Film Description

In 2006, mixed media artist Brock Enright traveled to California with his girlfriend to prepare for a brand new art exhibit.  Filmmaker Jody Lee Lipes went along for the ride, capturing the couple’s attempt to make their own film, as well as their money struggles.  The resulting documentary was named after Enright’s exhibit, Good Times Will Never Be The Same, which debuted at the Perry Rubenstein Gallery in February 2007.  The film follows as Enright’s odd creative process strains his relationship with his girlfriend, her family, and the gallery sponsoring his work.  Lipes, who makes his primary work as a cinematographer, shot the film without using handheld cameras, a technique rarely utilized for a documentary.  The film doesn’t include any interviews with Enright or any other person involved, making it a true fly-on-the-wall experience for the viewer.
