Film Description
For more than a decade Belize has been the focus of experimental projects designed to protect pristine eco-sanctuaries from the same threats that ravage the rain forests of Brazil. Journey deep into this fragile paradise to see ecologists from around the world band together to try to save a vast Howler Monkey preserve, as well as protect a sensitive marine environment that is home to endangered manatees and green turtles.
But are the ecologists' best-laid plans working? Or did they fail to take into account human nature and the unique legacy of Belize's own troubled history? Eco-Sanctuary Belize provides an unforgettable portrait of the jewel of the Americas at a crossroads.
