Film Description
This hour-long documentary is the first of French Director Chris Marker’s essays on Japan. Shot in Tokyo during the Olympics, The Koumiko Mystery is delicate and experimental in its filmmaking style. The stark contrast between the main character, Kuomiko and her modern-life surroundings is highlighted by such original film methods as the implementation of a cartoon strip and references to earlier films.
