Film Description

This series explores the act of making positive choices in a complicated world. Michael Pritchard uses stand-up comedy as a way of meeting students on their own terms and encouraging them to honestly look at their lives and the choices they make. By making fun of the negative, he heps his audience embrace the positive. The series, shown nationally on PBS, chronicles Pritchard's 22-state odyssey to American high schools where teenagers share common problems and concerns ranging from communcating with parents, to drug and alcohol abuse; from friendship and dating, to depression and suicide.

The issues are tough, but the interactions between Pritchard and his audiences is uplifting. Unlike many adults, Pritchard has not forgotten how difficult it is to grow up. His ability to relate to the turmoil of the teen years creates a bond with young viewers that encourages them to take an honest look at themselves and to explore choices that enable them to more effectively take charge of their lives.
