Film Description
A truly remarkable document that analyzes the role of media and media manipulation in shaping the turbulent events that occurred in Moscow during the final days of Mikhail Gorbachev's rule in 1991. Camcorder footage from the attempted coup, Gorbachev's home video, made in captivity, and a televised version of Swan Lake, form an elaborate backdrop against which two Hungarian commentators reflect on the tactical use of Western media by Soviet politicians and citizens alike. Subtitles in English.
