Independent Perspectives: 9.11

Introduction

The world is changing before our eyes. One way it is changing is that people in the United States have a greater interest in world affairs and how they are affecting us at home. While mainstream media is an easy way to get information fast, there are many points of view which don't show up in the movie theaters or on the nightly news. You can find them here.

After September 11th we received many requests for suggestions of documentaries relating to Afghanistan, the Middle East, international affairs, history, racial stereotyping and immigration. We at MediaRights.org are more committed than ever to our mission of helping educators, nonprofits, activists, and media makers use documentaries to encourage action and inspire dialogue on contemporary social issues. That is why we created Independent Perspectives on 9.11 to help showcase films and new media that will comfort, inspire and provoke you.

We have divided Independent Perspectives on 9.11 into four sections: Documentaries, Media on the Web, Youth Viewpoints and Calls For Submissions. Please email us if you have any comments or suggestions about things we should add. Click on these sections to see some independent points of view....
