Tomkat Films, an L.A. based production company is producing a documentary on children with autism. In production since December, there will be eight one hour episodes ranging in topic from early intervention, misdiagnosis, full inclusion in the school system, support groups; national organizations and why so few parents know of them; social outings and the difficulty of same; physical activities; interviews with the leading doctors in the field as well as those who have developed therapies i.e. Pyramied Autism Center; CARD and Autism Partnership. Audiences will be introduced to 8 yr. old twins, Ashley and Amber, whose carefree and spirited attitude whether surfing with their dad or skateboarding, reveals also the hidden prejudices by typical kids to those who are different.
