Kids: Vote for your favorite video, film or DVD of the year at www.kidsfirstinternet.org
When the Oscar winners are announced later the Academy will finally recognize great family films with their new animation category. Children's films have been overlooked by the entertainment industry. But, for the Coalition for Quality Children's Media they always come first. The Coalition has created the KIDS FIRST! Best Children's Film, Video, or DVD of the Year Award for films in four age categories: 0-2, 2-6, 6-12, and 12-15. The KIDS FIRST Best Award honors media that are non-violent and non-biased and engage a child's imagination; stimulate curiosity and creativity; respect cultural diversity; and challenge kids to think, reason, and ask questions.
Now it's every kid's turn to vote. The winners will be announced Saturday, April 27, 2002 at the KIDS FIRST! Film, Video and DVD Festival in Los Angeles.
