The recent boom in youth media has opened avenues for distribution, but with these opportunities come new social and political issues. In looking to the future, we grapple with cultural placement of such media. Who is consuming youth-produced work? How will the increase in audience affect production? Will youth-produced work grow beyond its activist roots with integrity? Sponsored in part by the Youth Initiatives Program of the Open Society Institute.
Panelists: Anna Lefer, Youth Initiatives, Open Society Institute; Dan Howard, Winner 2002 Golden Starfish Award; Austin Haeberle, ListenUp Moderator: MediaRights.org.
