Call for Entries: Iowa City International Documentary Festival 2004
14 —17 April 2004
Location:Iowa City, Iowa, USA
CALL FOR ENTRIES (SHORT DOCUMENTARY)
The Iowa City International Documentary Festival is dedicated to showcasing short documentaries (30 minutes or less). It is our belief that documentaries can serve as a catalyst for positive change, showing us both what we are and what we hope to be. Change can best be achieved by reaching the widest possible audience, and to that end, we wish to bring YOUR documentaries, representing a broad spectrum of thought, opinions and experience, to the heartland ofAmerica. In our first year we had enthusiastic, over-capacity audiences. We hope to build on that by increasing the size of the festival year by year.
This is a juried competition. All entries will compete for the top prize ($500). Other cash prizes will include awards for best International, best Iowa Filmmaker, and several other categories. Our festival is designed to establish a unique forum for filmmaker and audience interaction, to encourage the creation of outstanding short documentaries around the world, and to foster the development of Iowa documentarians.
Submission Deadline: Jan 15, 2004
(Late submission -Jan 31, 2004) $25 ($30)
