CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: JUNK: queer underground film fest
Malaqueerche Productions is putting together a travelling film festival for all the queers who never fit in . . . we are looking for DIY, no budget, campy, underground, independent, fagalicious, genderfuck,
pro fattie, furry and freaky images to screen for a night of queer underground film. We want to give representation and moving images to radical subcultures — this includes people of color, trans, working class, sex workers, fatties and anyone else who doesn't fit into a box. We are going to take the evening' on tour around the country in Spring 2004 from the West Coast to the East Coast as well as having
select screenings at festivals around the world. We want punks and freaks to take over movie theaters, living rooms, public parks and anywhere else we can find to screen these movies. They are scruffy, chubby and a little stinky — just like us - and the importance of
having them seen by droves of queers around the country is to connect us all through the art of the moving image. Make Art. Submit. Send. Details below:
1.) The film needs to be 25 minutes or less
2.) If you want yer film back then send us a self addressed stamped envelope'
3.) Preview copies need to be on VHS or DVD (with screening copies most likely on a DV tape)
4.) There's no official form to fill out but include yer name, email, address, phone numbers etc. as well as any other interesting info about you and yer movie (bios, pictures, drawings or a background of
you, yer film, how it was made etc.)
5.) SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31st, 2004
