American Experience broadcast of Citizen King
Bracketed by the Lincoln Memorial speech and King's assassination in Memphis, Tennessee, Citizen King traces Dr. King's struggle to recast himself by embracing causes beyond the civil rights movement—to "transform and restructure the whole of American society" as he put it. Please join us for this unique and timely film on Dr. King's legacy on the 75th Anniversary of his birthday.
The airdate for the PBS American Experience broadcast of Citizen King is January 19th 2004, at 9 PM ET. WGBH is our presenting station.
