MediaRights.org at the SXSW Film Conference in Austin!

On March 15th, MediaRights.org's Director of Technology will be speaking on the panel "Can Copyright Bring Audience and Filmmaker Together?" at the 2004 SXSW Film Conference in Austin, Texas.

Panel Description:
Distribution and rights clearance are two of every filmmakers biggest worries. How should you promote a film if the big distributors turn you down? How can you distribute online while keeping control of your commercial rights? Where can you host your films online for free (yes, free)? How can you lower costs by using royalty-free and public domain footage? How can you push aesthetic boundaries by encouraging interaction with your film? Learn about the Stanford-based nonprofit Creative Commons, its "some rights reserved" approach to copyright, and how it changes the way films get made and distributed.

When: March 15, 2004, 11:30-12:30
Where: Room 13B, Austin Convention Center, 500 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, TX 78701
