Working Playground, Inc. is Hiring Video Artists/Teachers

Video Teaching Artists

Working Playground is expanding its Video and Stop Motion Animation Department and is looking for teaching artists with knowledge and experience in teaching animation and/or video to inner city youth ages 12-17.

Ideal applicants will have:
Experience developing and implementing creative lesson plans

Experience teaching in NYC schools or related inner city environments (ages 12 — 17)

The ability to relate to people of diverse ethnic backgrounds

A passion for sharing their skills and creative energy with youth

Familiarity with basic animation software:
FLASH/POSER/iMOVIE/AFTER EFFECTS/FINAL CUT PRO

Good people skills

A reliable and professional work ethic

A some experience with NYC writing curriculum (a plus)

Working Playground, Inc. was founded in 1991 to bring the arts into New York City classrooms with the belief that art is essential to human development, education and culture. Our purpose is to support schools and communities that are lacking the opportunity and resources to study an art form. Our teaching artists use their professional experience in the arts to inspire, enliven, and enrich students' educational experiences. As we listen and learn from today's youths we are finding that the Media programs we offer have particular resonance to young people's lives.

Working Playground teaching artists are hired on a part-time basis and paid an hourly rate between $50-$65 depending on experience and type of program being taught.
