NY Premiere of "The Agronomist", a powerful documentary
On April 13, 2004, we will be hosting the NY Premiere of THE AGRONOMIST, a powerful documentary by Academy Award winning filmmaker Jonathan Demme on the trials and tribulations of Jean and Michele Dominique. The benefit event, which includes a marvelous post-screening reception featuring intimate performances Wyclef Jean and Jerry Wonder Duplessis,
promises to be lively, educational and entertaining. If you have not purchased your tickets already I urge you to do so at your earliest convenience. You can download the RSVP form at our web site. Your contributions will help us and Radio Haiti
strengthen our resolve to better the lives of the men, women and children of Haiti through our commitment to transform democracy and human rights in Haiti from a dream to a reality.
I am writing today to tell you that soon after the benefit premiere we are planning on holding a national meeting at New York University in NY. In 2002, the National Coalition for Haitian Rights (NCHR) organized a national meeting around building a National Haitian-American Agenda. The gathering attracted about 150 participants from across the United States. This year, we are organizing another meeting on the theme of Stepping Forward Together in 2004. The conference will take place in New
York at New York University on April 24, 2004.
