The Institute of American Indian Arts is pleased to announce its first Summer Film and Television Workshop.

Co-sponsored by the ABC first Summer Film and Television Workshop. Co-sponsored by the ABC Entertainment Television Group Talent Development Programs, the workshop will on the IAIA campus in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The six-week workshop will offer a unique curriculum which focuses on producing, writing, directing, and acting utilizing a unique mentoring program. Additional funding is being provided by the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.

The workshop is open to all, from entry level to the professional, offering course credit, if desired. Faculty will be drawn from the professional ranks of the film and television industry. Advanced applicants can apply for ten anticipated fellowships being offered.

WORKSHOP CURRICULUM:

An Actors' Workshop presented by film and television
industry talent

History of Native/World Cinema

Screen/Television Writing (Fundamentals of Storytelling)

Basic Film/Television Production (Budgeting, Shooting,
Editing)

Symposium: The Business of Entertainment (Guest Speakers)

The Indigenous Perspective and its Role in Media (Guest
Speakers)

WORKSHOP GOALS:

To facilitate and assist emerging Native American
screenwriters, filmmakers, actors, and video producers to elevate their technical and creative skills to be competitive in the professional marketplace.
Investigate the unique cultural and historical legacy of
tribal America.

Provide long term mentoring for students

Complete and distribute showcase shorts of work by fellows
