VOLUNTEER Web Designer Wanted for Local Nonprofit
Position Description:
We're looking for an experienced web designer who would like to showcase their talent by designing a web-site for our small organization! We need someone who is able to incorporate graphic design elements with web layouts using industry standard HTML resources like Dreamweaver, Adobe Go Live, hand-coding, etc.
The web designer who is selected will be expected to:
(1) start the project from idea to implementation
(2) provide raw data files for our records
(3) generate original graphics for incorporation into the web-site layout (4) be available via email (preferably) or telephone
(5) communicate effectively
(6) have at least 3-4 years of experience as a web designer (whether professionally or by hobby)
(7) listen effectively
(8) be able to use discretion for items that have been marked "confidential" --including passwords, ftp information, etc., AND
(9) provide a working site with appropriate links, or ability for organization to add/modify links
(10)be able to work effectively and professionally with women of color who are in supervisory positions
Required Web Skills:
1. Ability to handcode HTML or use HTML editor
2. FTP (uploading skills)
3. Dreamweaver, Photoshop and ImageReady
4. Multimedia Streaming (audio/visual), i.e., Real, Windows Media, WinAmp, etc. (desired but not required)
5. Flash (desired but not required)
6. PHP (desired but not required)
