Benefit to Support the NYC Film-Maker's Cooperative:
*On Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 8:00pm music headliners and filmmakers will rally in support of The Film-Makers' Cooperative at a Summer Benefit Concert at the Angel Orensanz Center for the Arts, 172 Norfolk Street (betw. Houston and Stanton Streets) in New York City.
*The evening's line-up features performances by Philip Glass in conjunction with the screening of a film by Harry Smith, the music of Lee Ranaldo, Rebecca Moore's band Prevention of Blindness with films by Joel Schlemowitz, and the Michael Gordon Band featuring the films of Bill Morrison.
*Founded in 1960, The Film-Makers' Cooperative is the oldest and largest artist-run collection of avant-garde cinema in the nation. Proceeds from the benefit will support the Coop's preservation efforts and the distribution of over 4000 films in its collection.
*Tickets are $35 (tax-deductible) and may be purchased by calling the Coop office (212) 267-5665 or at the door. Cash or credit cards accepted.
