National Media Education Conference 2005: Giving Voice to a Diverse Nation
Special features of NMEC 2005 will include an expanded youth component. In addition to Modern Media Makers, youth journalists will report on NMEC to various print and electronic media outlets, and there will be screenings of youth-produced media. KQED, part of our local committee, will sponsor several media salons, there will be pre- and post-conference activities and of course, featured speakers such as Renee Poussaint, Alan November, and Kenny Smith.
If you are interested in presenting at the conference, look for an announcement about the NMEC 2005 Request for Proposals in mid-August 2004.
The local committee will convene its first meeting at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2004.Renaissance Parc 55 Hotel, 55 Cyril Magnin St., San Francisco. If you are interested in coming to this meeting, or to local committee meetings in the future, please e-mail our local committee chairs:
