The Pursuit of Pleasure by Maryanne Galvin (2004, 52 min). This lively documentary challenges commonly held beliefs about female sexuality, gender roles, and relationships. Seven articulate, highly diverse women discuss marriage, celibacy, sexuality, sensuality, incest, gender roles, beauty, sisterhood, community, intimacy, and work. The women, ranging from a Gen X midwife to a ninety-four-year-old psychologist and sex therapist, offer varied perspectives on the evolution of pleasure since the women's movement began over forty years ago.
