Participate in an 8-day Vigil in Anticipation of Bush Administration visit to NYC
The goals of this vigil are to call upon the Bush administration to meet the needs of the people affected by Ground Zero pollution, and to educate the rest of the country about this need for action.
The vigil starts August 26 (Thursday) and goes on through September 2 (Thursday). People will gather from sunrise (6:30 am) to sunset (7:30pm). Each day we will honor and advocate on behalf of a different 'constituency' of the Ground Zero community, to raise public awareness of the wide range of people who were affected and the extent to which they were harmed by World Trade Center pollution.
Most people are committing for 2 hours on one or more of the days. We will be passing out stickers, holding signs and passing out information on WTC toxic clean-up, pollution, and what needs to be done now and in the future to ensure good air quality and safety for the local residents and businesses. Our meeting point will be Liberty St and Broadway (across the Street from the orange cube).
If you can participate on any of the days please send me an email or call me at 212-791-3600, 30. I would like people to register before hand so that we know how many people to expect for supplies and refreshments.
