One Year New Media Fellowship with Amnesty > InternationalOne Year New Media Fellowship With Amnesty International
Amnesty International USA's New Media Unit will sponsor a Bunche Fellow to recruit and mobilize Latina/Latino activists online via forums, online events, and email action alerts. Latino activist involvement will be sustained through a bilingual email newsletter and web content. In order to raise public awareness of Amnesty's work and involvement opportunities, the Fellow will organize online events targeting a Latino audience. The events will be promoted to Latino media, and Latino organizations will be approached as co-sponsors for events. The Fellow will work to syndicate AIUSA's news and actions to Latino websites and email newsletters. The New Media Fellow will also work to move New Media's efforts beyond a solely language-focused strategy to one that engages the bilingual Latino audience as a whole.
QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify, applicants must have strong writing skills in English and Spanish. Experience with Latino media is strongly desirable. Knowledge of human rights is strongly desirable. A basic knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver and Photoshop is also a plus.
