Civic Screening Programs in Rochester NY: "More than Moore: Reviving the Political Documentary" and "The Propa

Since mid July "The Propaganda Box" has made
available recently produced -some rarely seen in
Rochester political documentary films. This red,
white and blue mobile viewing station houses a video monitor and speakers and plays one video per day,looping continuously. Passers-by/ citizens are invited to sit on accompanying benches and view the video being screened each day. "The Propaganda Box" is on a weekly schedule visiting several high foot- traffic locations within the city of Rochester and on nearby College and University campuses.

The video installation/public offering "More than
Moore: Reviving the Political Documentary" will run through Nov. 2 (Election Day) in the VISUAL STUDIES WORKSHOP GALLERY

"More than Moore.."makes available a mass of some of timely political discourse in the form of recently produced (last three years) mainly documentaries, yet also including a few short naratives and animations works that deal with or respond to current issues.

Headphones and 25 viewing stations allow visitors to sample different videos at their own pace or watch one or more complete works at their convenience over the duration of the exhibition.

A CLOSING RECEPTION will be held on Nov. 2 and in
addition to normal documentary programing, will
include LIVE ELECTION COVERAGE from several media
outlets.
