Beat Back the Republicans and Take Back New York, feat. Senator Hillary Clinton
Join ACTIVATE partner Downtown for Democracy this Monday 10.18, as the group throws its final bash of the year: an evening of music, dance and oratory, with keynote speaker Senator Hillary Clinton. Proceeds benefit D4D's local candidate picks, almost all of whom are fighting to retake Democratic control of the New York State Senate, which has been controlled by the GOP since 1966. While beating George Bush on November 2nd remains our first priority, we must not lose sight of the fact that this election signals a larger battle. It's about knocking out Republicans at every level of government like they've been doing to Democrats for decades. Featuring a fiery speech from New York's own junior Senator, performances by some the City's best dance troupes, including Elisa Monte Dance, Jennifer Muller/The Works, Keigwin + Company, and many many more, and the premiere of D4D's new television advertising campaign with music by Cat Power.
