Downtown Digital Futures Conference (May 15-16, 2005 - New York, NY). Bringing together artists, urban planners, government, business and real estate leaders, cultural theorists and technologists from both the United States and Asia, this conference focuses on the development of Lower Manhattan in relation to models currently being realized in Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul and Tokyo. From wireless internet access in public parks to the on-going debates about surveillance and emergency preparedness, new communication technologies are central to the re-invention of downtown New York.
