Dealing with Police: Do you know your rights?
Does a police officer have the right to stop you at any time for any reason? How much are you legally required to say or
do? When do your personal rights outweigh police rights?
Chances are, like most people, you have little to no idea about your exact rights when it comes to treatment by the
police. Now, some groups across Canada are trying to change that. One of the newest is Winnipeg's 'Copwatch,' who hope to "police the police" in the innercity using citizen videographers.
Join us live this Friday on-air or on-line at 8 pm et, 5 pt ON 'Contact' - APTN's national call-in show - as our guests
help you better understand your rights when dealing with police.
