Panelists discuss the plight of the estimated 650,000 to one million people in Burma who have been driven from their homes by the military junta, either to state-controlled relocation sites and satellite towns or into hiding in the forests. Speakers examine the implications of the IDP crisis in Burma, and frame it in terms of the international debate on how to protect IDPs. The panel opens with recent video documentation shot inside Burma by Burma Issues, a grassroots human rights organization working in partnership with the international human rights organization WITNESS.
