BAVC presents the Media That Matters Film Festival, celebrating films, videos, and new media that inspire people to speak out and take action for social change. The festival includes short films and new media projects by over 16 documentary, narrative and experimental media makers, on subjects such as food politics, AIDS awareness, domestic abuse, and criminal justice. A lively discussion of the films plus Q&A with the local group Books Not Bars, which is featured in one of the films,
and other community representatives will follow the screening.
