"The Village" Screening
"The Village" will be screened at the Village East Cinema on screen B Saturday November 13th at 2:10pm. The Village East Cinema is located at 181 2nd Ave. (at 12th Street) in Manhattan's Greenwich Village.
The film documents events that began on April 20, 2001 at Pennsylvaina State University when student Black Caucus President LaKeisha Wolf recieved a thrid and final hate letter.— That letter was a death threat. The next day African American students along with other students on campus took matters into their own hands, protesting the University's response to the seris of hateful letters. "The Village" chronicles the 14 days of protests, which included a ten-day takeover of the student center.
