Call for Entries: Feature This! Deconstructing Borders
Every day, we contend with borders. Some are physical boundaries, such as the walls of a jail or prison. Others are psychological (sexism, racism) or political (gay marriage) or emotional. Many are all four, such as the steel fence that grows ever larger in the desert separating Arizona from Mexico.
We're told that the borders are for our own good, for our protection, to safeguard a way of life. But deep down, we know those to be lies. It's high time we expose the lies and tear down those borders.
Pan Left Productions is seeking entries of short- and feature-length videos that deal with the theme "Deconstructing Borders." The films will be screened as part of the semi-annual Feature This! Video Festival which presents innovative works from independent media artists from around the country. For more information, visit featurethis.panleft.org.
