The 29th San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival Was A Huge Success!
Well, it’s over, but not soon forgotten. Frameline29 was a glorious success, with 266 queer films from 33 countries screened at 4 venues, and a total attendance of approximately 66,000 (up 10% from last year). Along with the screenings, festival-goers enjoyed receptions, parties, and galas around the clock. Guest celebrities included stars featured in this year’s festival films, like mascara queen Tammy Fay Messner (Tammy Faye: Death Defying), elusive gay sex icon Peter Berlin (That Man: Peter Berlin), Jason Ritter (Happy Endings), Heklina (Trannyshack and Blood, Sweat and Glitter), and the entire San Francisco Fog rugby team (Rugger Buggers). Also spotted at screenings were author Armistead Maupin, Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Amber Benson, directors Joel Schumacher and Chi Chi LaRue, former Ambassador to Luxembourg Jim Hormel, and comedienne Marga Gomez. A grand time was had by all, and we’re already looking forward to the 30th San Francisco LGBT Film Festival in June, 2006.
