Seeking Archival Footage for Just Vision's Film

Just Vision is currently editing a documentary film with the working title, "Blind Transmission". We are very excited about the film's progress. We have been following several Palestinian and Israeli characters over 16 minutes as they encounter (at times overcome) every conceivable obstacle in trying to move their societies toward a path of deescalation and reconciliation. We are now trying to establish the context in which our characters operate so that our audiences understand what is at stake.

Therefore, we are currently seeking to track down archival footage -- the kind that mainstream news often provides about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Given the incredible density of cameras in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, we are hoping to find footage of the following through donations from interested filmmakers and camera people since we have absolutely no funds at our disposal for licensing and are operating on a week-to-week basis at the moment.

If you or someone you know can assist by helping us track down the footage described below, please contact Ronit Avni (ronit@justvision.org), or our Production Assistant, Ana Rosansky (Ana_Rosansky@brown.edu).

Format: We are looking for either minidv footage (PAL or NTSC if it) provided that was the original format it was shot in, or Beta or Beta SP tapes.

Content:

1. Israeli responses to suicide bombings, including Israeli calls for revenge.
2. Abuses at checkpoints: soldiers being harsh / disrespectful with civilians.
3. Suicide bombing b-roll. The chaos of minutes after an attack -- ambulances, destroyed buildings, buses, people running afraid, eye witnesses recounting fear, families looking for their loved ones.
4. Israeli incursions into the Occupied Territories, tanks, soldiers coming in Nablus, Jenin, Gaza, in special operations to catch militias but effecting the whole city.
5. Ordinary soldiers and Israeli civilians expressing the need for these measures as necessary for security.
6. Palestinians throwing stones at tanks and soldiers, preferably close-up footage, with people's comments and expressions.
7. Armed Palestinian groups shooting at tanks and soldiers in the West Bank.

We would like to know where the footage is from and when it was shot.
