Action Against Hunger in DC

very Four Seconds Someone Dies of Hunger.

We're Trying to Help...

Join Us!

October 15, 2005, Washington, DC - In an effort to raise awareness of World Food Day and the 8 million people who die from hunger around the world each year, Action Against Hunger (ACF) will stage an exhibition on October 15. Join ACF and Representative James P. McGovern from the Congressional Hunger Center as we set up rows of silhouettes in Dupont Circle, representing people who are at risk of dying from hunger or a hunger-related cause. Every four seconds we will ring a gong and a standing silhouette will be symbolically struck down. This event will be duplicated in cities around the world, run by each of Action Against Hunger's international headquarters.
We need your help! Action Against Hunger needs volunteers to help make a difference by participating in this event and spreading the word. Come support us as we make sure that the world does not forget about World Food Day, the consequence of hunger, and the thousands who die each day from the ravages of starvation.
