CRC/RECYouth is hiring!
Media Arts & Technology Instructors needed:
Computer Resource Centers (CRC) are labs where people of all ages can learn computers in a safe, structured environment. These labs are located in all five boroughs and operated by the City of New York/Parks & Recreation Department. We provide formal classes and informal drop-in time to help users of all ages advance their education and careers. We also organize mentoring projects, sponsor job training sessions and hold academically focused contests.
Within CRC we operate a teen program called RECYouth (REEL Education and Communication for Youth) where NYC youth (ages 6 –19) participating in the RECYouth program learn the skills necessary to become digital storytellers, musicians and filmmakers. RECYouth offers city-wide, year-round programming in which students are trained in digital video and audio production through hands-on, pre-employment technology and arts instruction. The RECYouth curriculum is centered on cultivating a strong technical vocabulary and providing an outlet for creative expression. Students are encouraged to collaborate through team-building activities and the sharing of responsibilities, ensuring experience with all aspects of production. Upon completion, RECYouth-produced work is featured at public screening events, submitted to festivals and for television broadcast.
We are looking for candidates who present themselves
professionally, are comfortable speaking to diverse groups of people, are comfortable with technology, and are willing to learn new skills, techniques, and formats for presentations. We are looking for dynamic
individuals who can think on their feet and add creativity to varied learning environments.
