Latin American Video Archive is closing after twenty years!!

At a time when independent distribution seems to be at it's apex, age-old distributors that have been key for distribution and outreach of social-documentary films are finding it difficult to stay afloat.

Sadly, The Latin American Video Archives (LAVA) will be terminating its distribution services as of December 30, 2005.
Before this date you will have the unique opportunity of acquiring LAVA titles before they go out of distribution.

LAVA has been key in the distribution and outreach of hundreds of independent Latin American and Latino/a filmmakers, having records of every single Latin American and Latino/a piece ever to reach the US. Latin American Video Archive has also been an invaluable research tool giving a voice to independent film in a manifold of ways for over 15 years.

We encourage you not only to follow the link below for a list of titles available for sale, but to e-mail us with your ideas, suggestions and/or outreach capacities on how LAVA can stay alive even if only in the form of archival information.

Remember, this is your last chance to support the hundreds of filmmakersthat LAVA represents!

To order the titles please take note of the title name and ID number. Fax or email the titles and ID numbers as well as your name, address, and a telephone number where you can be reached. LAVA's staff will call you to complete your order.

Orders must be received by December 30, 2005.

Lava would also like to take this moment to thank all of the clients, filmmakers, website users, festivals, distributors, archive visitors, and Latin American and Latino film fans for their continued support over the years.
