Sundance Channel DocDay Promo Casting

Arts Engine, Inc/Big Mouth Films and The Sundance Channel will be shooting short promotional spots for the Sundance Channel's popular DOCday. Every Monday, the channel devotes the entire day's line up to documentary films. These promotional spots for DOCday will feature real people from all walks of life who love documentaries. The spots will be semi-scripted using short, sweet, sometimes sassy, deft descriptions of the featured docs.

Initial casting is for the first 5 test spots. These may be picked up for broadcast. Participants will only be paid if spots make it on air.

Looking for: Men and Women (all ethnicities, body types, professions, interests, ages, etc.) who love documentaries. Interested in a variety of professions and hobbyists, however the following types will be given special attention for the first shoot:

* Firefighters
* Waiters and waitresses
* Anyone in the science field (Natural History museum staff member, chemist, etc.)
* Rock and roll musician(s)
* Newsroom journalists
* Surgeons
* Burlesque dancers
* Anyone with an interesting profession or passion (the more offbeat the better!)

No acting experience is necessary. You must be charismatic, altogether interesting and love documentaries. Must also have a great sense of humor and strong opinions and not be afraid to share them.

First shoot is next Tuesday, December 6
Spots will be shot on location - people are not required to provide their own location but in some cases it would be helpful (i.e. firefighters at the fire station)
Phone interviews and/or auditions November 30 - December 5
Since these are test spots, people will only be paid if spot is picked up for broadcast
You may be required to screen up to 2 feature length documentaries before shoot date.
