United Nations commemorates World AIDS Day in NY!
Keep the Promise and Commemorate World AIDS Day!
December 1, over 2,000 PEOPLE EXPECTED TO ATTEND STAR-FILLED EVENT AT THE CATHEDRAL OF ST. JOHN THE DIVINE TO “STOP AIDS. KEEP THE PROMISE”
WHAT: New York City's largest World AIDS Day commemoration will take place again this year on December 1 in one of the city's most spectacular settings, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. This unique community event is an evening of music and reflection. Speakers include New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS. It is expected to be the largest World AIDS Day commemoration to take place in the United States. The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the United Nations Department of Public Information (UN DPI) and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), in collaboration with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and African Services Committee (Harlem).
