Participatory Culture Foundation Announces New Internet TV Channel
Launched last week on Democracy, the Free “Tivo-for-internet TV” Open Source System
Participatory Culture Foundations launched Democracy last week, the world’s first comprehensive open-source internet TV system. Democracy is a free, open-source project of the non-profit Participatory Culture Foundation and includes a complete suite of internet TV tools to broadcast high quality, full screen videos. Democracy includes the Democracy Player, the built-in Channel Guide, the Broadcast Machine publishing tool, the VideoBomb.com social bookmarking website for video.
As the online video landscape grows, you can now gather a substantial audience share in this emerging mass medium of internet TV by creating your own channel. The Democracy system has the ability to publish video to millions of viewers for little or no cost, thanks to Broadcast Machine’s optional BitTorrent video publishing, and a continuous connection with membership, who receive video delivered directly to their desktops via the Democracy player.
